Dog watches intently when I'm showering

OP here. I had not thought of the protective aspect but that makes total sense!

He’s just making sure you don’t die in there.

None that I've had. Some dogs/breeds do. Many hate it.

My cats do this too. I agree, it’s weird.

"Human, why do you do seek to drown yourself every day?!?!?"

He's probably thinking he's a therapy dog treating a depressive patient...

Shape shifter or a waredog, clearly.

Do you feed your dog after taking a shower? The dog may simply be following you until he gets fed. He knows the routine — the shower is like Pavlov’s bell.

I've heard the theory that pets might be confused when humans aren't wearing clothes since they recognize us in clothing. Might be stupid thought I'd share.

Our dog's crate is in our bedroom. We get W I L D in our bedroom.

Yuck. Poor dog! Dogs have been shown to have the intelligence of a 2 yr old. Are you okay with having a toddler in your bedroom who hears and sees your wild sex?

NP. Are you saying you do everything for your dog that you do for a 2 year old? That makes no sense. Who cares if a dog sees wild human sex. Not the dog!

I think he’s being protective of you as well. My dog demonstrates he is very concerned for my safety as well.

Mine is not so much protective as afraid that she is next in line for a bath.

This. Mine follows me into the bathroom, but runs away as soon as I turn the water on.

They like the water falling.

My dog does not come in the bathroom when I’m showering, however if I don’t close the door all the way he will come to the bathroom if I’m sitting on the toilet. I have to close the door all the way. Otherwise he is right at my feet
