Shaming me for going to gym right now ..

"Death" isn't enough?

I'm a fitness freak and that is precisely why I am NOT going to the gym. This illness attacks your lungs!

I have a peloton, a weight set, and good running shoes. That will get me through til I can get back to my beloved orangetheory.

Or just incredibly selfish and short-sighted.

This is the problem! ICU?!? Healthy individuals recover from this with no problem like the tens of thousands in China. The old and sick are the vulnerable ones just like with the flu . Tom Hanks and his wife are hanging out in their rented mansion watching Netflix recovering just fine.

Lick some doorknobs and then your granny just to cut to the chase.

It’s not mandatory!

What? In my state it’s an executive order! Very much mandatory...

Amazing that a state would close schools but leave gyms open. #screwed up priorities. If we’re going to shut down offices and schools, yes gyms need to close. Download an exercise video Op.

You’re too damn old to be so selfish.

This is a temporary thing. You will be okay without the gym for a while.

Because people (you in this case) like to rationalize why they're right even when so many are telling them that they're wrong.

The CDC has already revealed that this initial assumption was incorrect. As many as 20-33% of those age 45-65 (your age group) will be affected seriously enough to be hospitalized from this infection. And the death rate in that age group was between 0.4 and 1.3%. Yes, you are less likely to die from the virus, but you are still extremely likely to be ill enough to be hospitalized. And if you are hospitalized, you will take valuable resources away from others who need to be hospitalized including many older than you who have a greater risk of dying. So, just try to be a little less selfish and just stay away from the gym so that you can stay out of the hospital and leave the resources for others.

Sorry, no. If this is OP, use some self-discipline and work out at home or go for a run. I know you're older, but try adjusting to the new circumstances--this is for the greater good, not your own convenience.

I’m thin and think you are selfish.
