There are lots of learn to play options locally for adults.

Agree with this 100%

OP here: My coworker does this and i've given it serious thought ... He said they're always looking for folks to play and they have a blast. Thx!

My pleasure! Check out HNA.com for info on beginner clinics. I also think Laurel Ice Gardens has a free early morning skills session on the weekend. But you gotta be able to skate a little bit.

Not sure if you'll consider it a team sport, but I picked up tennis as an adult and play in several doubles leagues. Met some great people there!

Medstar Capitals Iceplex in Arlington offers Adult Learn to play classes and an Adult Learn to Play league that is separate from HNA.

If you are not careful, any sport can cause alot of damage.
Volleyball! That sport has the most movements in every direction at the spur of the moment.

I played badminton before. It is not a slow sport but it can be a slow sport. Same with pickleball. Our 90 year old neighbor says ping pong (table tennis) is best for her for her because she doesn't have to extend her arms much because she easily dislocate her shoulders. And you don't have to run to get the ball. The only thing you need to worry about is bending down to get the ball that is very bouncy and have good eyesight because ping pong balls are small.

I guess you can pick any sport and do it at your pace. On weekends in the spring-fall, I would see a group of older soccer players at a neighborhood field. They obviously don't care because there must be about 15 people on each team. It's alot of players at a time. But, they all walk to the ball and kick it. A couple of them would walk fast to the ball. Hey, it works for them and they are outside getting fresh air. Good for them!

I am a Montgomery County Picklabell player in my mid 40's. Competitive athlete all my life and now completely hooked on this game. Have met so many great folks through it, local and further afield -- all ages. It really is fantastic.

Previous Pickleball poster. I now realize you mentioned a team sport and Pickleball is not quite(doubles "team') but when we travel to tournaments etc, the group of us from our local area feel like a team.
