I have a lot more faith in these teen protesters to think critically and speak intelligently over some of these idiot adults showing up at Cheetoh's rallies:

I agree with the PP. Do you know those two men? How do you know they can’t speak intelligently?

And based on what I see from my DD’s classmates work, some of their writing ability is certainly lacking as a direct result of their MCPS education. Though, hopefully, they can think better than they can write?

You wouldn’t get ten students if the protest was on Saturday morning.

You mean like this March for Our Lives rally that was held on SATURDAY, March 24, 2018. Yeah, you’re right, no hs kids were there because they were all sleeping in.

That is VERY true!

They'd rather be sleeping in and then texting all day.

So many of you think these kids are enlightened. lol!

Spend a day in a classroom and THEN post. You can't pull a phone away from a teen w/o starting a war. And then Mommy and Daddy come to the rescue b/c the teacher is SOOOO MEAN!

civic engagement - Many can't even defined the damn term, and you expect them to PROTEST???

I know MAGA. Trump is the greatest president since Nixon. How dare you question his genius.

If they want to get involved, protest, be a part of their world, they're just looking for a free day off, and need to shut up and let the grown ups handle it. If they're ignorant of the world and don't concern themselves with political and social issues, they're self-centered and in their own bubble.

They only get a half-day. Sure, some kids will abuse it. But I think the lessons learned can be important for many kids. Maybe one of those lessons could be that their time would have been better spent in class. Who knows?

I know and it’s curious there are so many Trumpkins posting here when the county votes overwhelmingly blue.

Trumpkins? Are you capable of civil discourse? That's what should be occurring here.

Agree - it defies credibility. There just aren't that many Trumpers in MoCo.

Well, my MOCO blue vote is turning red next year. My party has fallen off of the rails. There are a lot of us.

+ 1

Dem Party is moving so far to the left that it’s becoming redder than the GOP.

This is me also.

Voted for Hillary last time. Voting for Trump in 2020. My MoCo vote means nothing because the County is so overwhelmingly blue. But, like another poster said, I want my voice to be heard against how far left the County has gone.

It's great that so many students are engaged by today's issues!

The US has moved increasingly to the far right since the 1970s.
