Oh, I thought they meant either the slip-ons (which is what my teen wears) or the high-top (which is what I think of as the classic vans kids wore when I was in HS). I wasn't even thinking of the plain ol' Keds style sneakers!
I wish I found Vans more comfortable, as I would just get a fun pair of the slip ons. |

My favorite shoe right now |
This is still what I think of as ur-Vans https://www.vans.com/shop/checkerboard-slip-on |
| Sperry topsider crest vibes or Seasides. |
| I rotate between Vince and Vans |
These are gasp worthy hideous. Just WOW. You walk around with these on, huh? WOW. |
| Vince sneakers. Definitely the grown up Vans. |

I’m 49 and have old school checkerboard Vans. But the lack of arch support is tough, so I wear them sparingly.
Allbirds are my daily go-to now. Both the wool and tree runners and slip-on loungers. |

Vince
Steve Madden Cole Hahn Bondo All have versions similar to Vans but price point much higher. |
$248, no less. |

I call my Vionic shoes "old people Vans" because they have arch support, which I need for any walking that is over 30 mins long.

| ^^ should clarify, I love Vans and have a few pairs. I just can't wear them if I'm going to be doing lots of walking. |
