In addition, a bunch of the posts mention Seneca Valley and Clarksburg.

There will be a countywide boundary analysis - that is not in question. Currently there are only a few "actual" boundary changes underway though.

OK thanks for the mature and helpful reply unlike some of the others - so the current timeline of the full county being moved around 2021-22 is accurate?

doubtful -- see link I just posted.

Interesting-- yeah I saw that. I had assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that they would present their findings June 2020, then BOE would vote Fall 2020 and it would take effect Fall 2021...

I think you are making a big assumption that any change would take effect in 2021. It takes BOE about a year to do an analysis and engage community input for ONE cluster boundary change. It will take a lot longer to do this for an entire cluster.

Potomac, Bethesda, Silver spring, Rockville, Gaithersburg, etc- bussing kids all over the county. It isn't just Clarksburg and Seneca Valley. Will affect all students except possibly juniors and seniors. Walkers will be on buses, etc. Pros and cons- no need to debate all of that but the point is, it's not just certain parts of the county OR maybe I am mistaken if there is someone here who is closely involved, can correct me if I am wrong. I saw previous threads that are mentioning very small pockets of the county, but I was told it's the entire county. Thanks!

Correct. This is a MSTA initiative. Howard County just voted on their countywide boundary changes. MCPS is next.

And FCPS and APS. So where will you all run away to now? Curious. Frederick?

Agree this is just an analysis without boundary recommendations. So then the county will need to review the analysis -- before recommending anything. This will be a LONG process and who knows if it will ever come to fruition honestly.

No. It couldn't be more inaccurate, unless you said something like "Martin Luther King Jr was an avocado cultivar."

Did you middle schooler take your phone? OK so you have all of the answers- are you involved in this study, part of MCPS or just home bored with nothing to do? If we are all so confused, how about you explain your source of info or don't engage.

Are you OP? If so, MCPS has been sending e-mails to you about this for months. And the information about the MCPS boundary analysis is easy to find on the internet, for example by typing MCPS boundary analysis into Google.

Thanks- yes I have seen most. I was confused by the previous post of only mentioning small pockets, so was wondering if it was being done in stages. In addition, was wondering if the 2021-22 effective date was accurate. I knew this was happening in general!

Last I was told this could take effect 2021-22 school year. Maybe unlikely but possible..

Op - there do you get yoru belief that "this" means "bussing kids all over the county?"

Moving kids throughout the county (so for example: Whitman to Kennedy, Kennedy to Churchill, RM to Springbrook, Springbrook to WJ, Wooton to Wheaton, Clarksburg to Whitman, etc)
Just using high schools as an example, but obv also middle and elementary as well.. these are just examples not the actual movement plan.

Please don't! We don't want you here! Everywhere Montgomery County refugees go, they destroy. Just look at Fairfax, and HCPS.

Again - please point to this "plan" in the MCPS documents.

It's not in documents - it is being discussed at the meetings. They are moving the entire county around, just not sure on timeline and how many students wil be moved. It's about diversifying, alleviating overcrowding and improving performance as stated on their site.
