Please talk to me about Hybrids/Plug ins!

Chevy Bolt. They aren't selling well (Teslas get all the press) so great deals to be had:

Brand new Bolts for 30% of list price basically. Based on your commute, you'd need to remember to charge the battery at home every 2-3 days. Just get in the habit of plugging in when you get home each day and you'll be fine.

I really love my Kia Niro. It's a great size and well designed. My husband keeps offering to replace it with a Tesla, but I'm perfectly happy with my Niro.

OP here- Yes, I confused the Volt for the Bolt! Chevy REALLY had to use such similar names? lol

I just traded in my 2009 Prius for a 2019 Prius and love it so much. My DH really likes it, too - much more than the 09. We average 48-54mpg around town - haven't taken it on a road trip yet.

Did you compare to the Volt, Bolt and/or Clarity?

OP here- Is yours the hybrid or the plug in hybrid?

I'm thinking of going to the dealership and looking, but I would probably walk out with it I'm planning on buying a bit down the road.

You can buy one out of Maryland.

We test drove one and didn't like the styling.

I bought my Niro two years ago before they released the plug in.

We tried buying a plug in VW for my husband, and the dealer would only sell to us if we were a Maryland resident.

We've just bought a 2020 Toyota Prius Prime. Love it, love it
love it! We've driven 1800 miles and only used 2 bars
of gas. If you can find a 2019 Prius Prime you can
get a $4000 tax rebate.

We charge it every night.

We had a 2006 Prius with 140,000 miles on it. The white panel by the hatch was coming unglued so I decided to get the Prius Prime. We were not even trying to sell the
2006 but 3 different people came to us with stacks
of cash to buy the 2006 Prius when they heard
we were getting the Prius Prime.

Also, there is a huge improvement on the "ride"
of the new Prius compared to the 2006 Prius.

PP here. That happened to us back in 2016. We wanted to buy a new SparkEV and they would only sell new to MD residents. We ended up buying a used one. This past summer we looked at the Hyundai Kona EV and asked if they would sell to VA residents. They said they would and that the GM rule was because the SparkEV was a compliance car.

What is surprising is how roomy the car is, my 6'3" 33 year old son can sit comfortable in the back seat. The cargo space is great, especially with the back seat down.

Did you have to replace battery on the first Prius?
NP. We have a 2007 Prius with 160k+ miles on it and the original big battery is going strong. The regular battery has been replaced like a normal car.
