How much to pay for someone to pick my kid up from school and take her to dance?

I know, I was actually assuming that the only person I would be able to find to do it would be a high schooler.

She dances five days a week.

What stupid dance studio starts at 4? Most kids aren’t home by then... find a different studio

Nobody’s going to do it reliably every day for $20.

A lot of sports in high school start at that time as they need get in all the classes and lessons and its a space issue. Middle and high school kids are home.

Its not really an hour time as they have to travel to the school, wait and take her to the dance studio. And, how is she getting home?

$40 an hour. It is a job with responsibility and time sensitive - but it is a boring job, for a short duration and not worthwhile.

It is a mom job - essential, needing sacrifice of time from a responsible person everyday and will not be paid much for it, and yet no one wants to do it for another.

If the direct route isn't bikeable or walkable, is there another way she can go that would have sidewalks?

Is there a public bus she can take?

Is there a school bus she can ride to another neighborhood from which she can reach the studio?

She finishes dance around 7-7:30. I can pick her up then.

Her advanced ballet class (which is what my daughter is in) starts at 4. Most of the students are in HS, which gets out at 2. Or a few that are in Middle School which gets out at 3.

I apologize if I sound snippy for saying this, but many people have asked these same questions, and if any of these were options I wouldn't be posting here. We are in a somewhat rural area (but the school and dance studio are along busy roads), that's why there are no sidewalks, no there is not a city bus around, and there is no other path for her to get there. The school doesn't even have a crossing guard because all the kids who go there are bus riders. I know this is hard to imagine, but it's the situation. I would be fine with my daughter walking there if there was a sidewalk and crossing guard, but there isn't.

To be honest, I was really envisioning it being a high schooler. I could see where a highschooler would have free time around then and want some easy money. I just don't know how reliable they would be.

Uber?

Nobody wants to do this job and be tied to a weird pickup schedule 5 days a week.

This? One mile is like a 20 minute walk. Or a 5 minute bus ride.
