| Nearly any name that ends in -lynn, -son, -den. Every ding dong I went to high school with has a pack of kids with these names. |
|
For me, it would be any currently popular name. I know lots of people rule out top 10, but my name was only top 20 and there were so many others. Hated this, so I actually aimed for names below #500 on the SSA list.
In general, I would definitely say Adolf or anything Trump related |
| I nixed any name in the top 10 popularity or that my brother or first cousins used. |
+1. Exactly. And since the popular names of a generation age with you, I am known by my married last name at work since there are so many women my age with my first name. |
|
Any name trump related, Adolf, Jezebel and Nicole (who was vicious to me in high school).
I cringe at Ziggy, too. |
Same reason for DH nixing James. James best the crap out of him in seventh grade. |
| I love Jemima but I just couldn’t do it. |
Mom to a James here...I don't like Tammy. Tammy was my BFF in grade school but it seems so low-class. And yes, I was raised poor. FWIW: All of those top 10 70's names are...unused now. |
Same here! |
| Ben. Ben is a huge joke in my family. There was a father and son in our neighborhood named Big Ben and Little Ben. But Little Ben was bigger than Bog Ben which totally stumped us as kids (we weren’t terribly bright). So when my DH brought up the name Ben, my parents, siblings and I burst out laughing. |

Adolf
Jihad Nevaeh Walter Elmer Delmer Apple Moxy Crime fighter Danger Sir Blanket Marijuana Pepsi Jesus |
My daughter told me she has had a friend in 8th grade with my way too popular in the 70s name. That made me smile a little. It’s actually a great name, but it was just overused then. |
| My evil ex-employer’s name and anything trump. |
A two-year-old in our Music Together class has one of those names. I love it! |
