This. In the US, this name leans female. |
It’s very dated. Just go with alexander. |
In America, not unisex. Female name. I know several male Alexei's though. |
If parents can name their daughters Ryan, they can name their sons Alexis. |
Use Alexander (boy) or Allison (girl) |
Definitely a female name in the US.
I do know one male Alexis, but only 1, and I didn't know he was man until I met him (saw the name on paper first and assumed it was a woman). I also know a male Alexi, which still seems feminine but is passable as male. |
I know one man named alexis, he is latino. |
In English-speaking countries it’s a girl’s name. For the rest of the world it’s a boy’s name, but unfortunately for you we live in the US. Alexei has a similar sound and is male but it’s very, very Russian. |
Of course! But OP asked and deserves an honest answer. |
If you name your boy Alexis you don't get to complain that everyone thinks he's a girl when they make lists and the like. |
Nobody is saying they can't but, it is "cooler" for girls to be named boy names and embarrassing for boys to be named girl names. Do ypu know any men who now have women names? They talk about being teased and bullied. When there are so many male names why would you do this to your kid just to make a point? |
I can only pronounce “Alexis” the way Moira Rose does. |
I love you. Can we be friends? |
Girl. Boy is Alex. |
Why not split the difference and go with Alexi |
