Einstein's longtime principal just retired this summer, so this will be a getting-to-know-you year with the new principal. Blair's principal has been there several years, and is very, very active on Twitter. |
Do you have direct experience with the schools? |
We are not a low income family (we make 400k a year) and we are happy with Blair. |
That PP has no information. I only have experience with Blair, oldest graduated recently and had a great experience there. She had friends at Einstein who were happy as well. Similar college outcomes, for friends spread across the two schools. |

I've had kids at both Einstein and Blair.
Blair is a big school with more course offerings (especially if you have a kid interested in math and science), but it is such a big school that they have many elective offerings in every subject. They also have a better instrumental music program. Einstein has the IB program, it has more school spirit, and a tighter knit community. Are you walkable to either school? My kid could walk to and from Einstein. That convenience is priceless. |
Einstein has a special music program that Blair does not have. |
Thanks. It’s a bus ride either way. One of the buses is earlier but the stop is closer to our house. I thought people liked the Einstein instrumental program? |
I've only been an audience member, but the instrumental performances I've seen at Einstein have been terrific. |
everybody makes 400k or more here |
Nope! |
If everyone makes it, does that include low income folks? |
Direct experience here - Einstein has a great jazz band, but is working on its orchestra. The instrumental music director, Mr. Kelly, is absolutely fantastic. |
| I think that Blair probably has more experienced students in strings. |
Yes he is, and he just won a Rising Star Teacher of the Year award. https://www.greenblatteducationfund.org/winners |
This is not true. Blair has more kids and more audition only music opportunities. It is a numbers game. |
