This is one area where non-luxury brands can learn from luxury brands. The luxury brands do a lot better job of monitoring quality standards at their dealers and cutting down on shady practices. They solicit a lot of customer feedback (directly from the manufacturer) and any low rating and you'll be getting a call from the owner of the dealership and the district manager too. That said, you only deal with this during the day you are purchasing, compared ot the many years you'll own the vehicle. So it's a short-term annoyance. |
| Also know that if you go to. Non luxury brand, they probably won’t have loaners when you go in for service |
It's the democratization of technology. Add anti-lock brakes, traction, control, and stability control. Comes down to, is a German luxury vehicle really worth 75% more? Maybe 20% more but 75%? |
| Kia is a great car. Probably I would lease it though. |
|
I think that all car dealerships are shady.
Especially if you are a woman and shop alone. Honda and Toyota would be excellent choices - Nissans have really dropped the ball in quality. Kia still needs to prove itself in the buyer’s market. Many people still view them as junk even though they have improved over the years. At this time, they have overall bad resale value if you plan on selling it down the line.... |
| Where is the video of the Tesla driver getting into his car? I guarantee he can’t open his door without hitting the other car. |
| I would check out the VW Atlas. We tried everything and went with that (with captains seats) |
| For 3 row vehicles, Lexus LX580 or Infiniti QX80 are the best one. |
Lol. This person likes driving hideous beasts. |
QX is a terrible car and ugly. The LX (or Land Cruiser) are nice but super expensive. Even 2 year old used that is a 70k car. New like 100k. |
You've described just about every car buying experience I've ever had. Kia doesn't have a monopoly on this sales model. |
Expensive is a relative term. Lot of Lexus LX580 in Bethesda, Potomac and Chevy Chase that I lost count. There are at least 10 LX580 in my neighborhood. |
Such a gas guzzler. Blech. |
I don't know about Kia, but we get a loaner when our Toyota is serviced. And our insurance provides a loaner if it needs work after a wreck. |
| The happiest Kia owners are probably the ones who chose it over the Audi they could afford. You have all the options; there's no reason not to make this choice. |
