I was looking at all 3 row vehicles out there (not highlander as 2020 is major update and I need a car now) and have settled on a telluride over the q7 and gle.
I feel like I am insane to pick a low end name over the “high end” names but I just like the car better. Am I crazy? Or just boring/practical or old? |
| It would cost a lot more to fix the Audi or the mercedesnif something goes wrong. Did you test drive and like the ride? |
| Today, the reliable cars tend to be the "cheaper" brands. |
I would still not get a KIA. OP, stick to the Toyota, Honda or Nissan lines. |
+ many. Dumb to consider 3 OP is considering. |

I have the Mercedes GLS, and I kind of like the telluride. If you are l adding it l, fine, but I wouldn’t trust a Kia long term, and it eill be very hard to sell when you are done as others won’t trust it either.
How long do you plan to keep it? The Honda Pilot is not bad. Don’t get a Nissan either. They are complete junk. Why not the MDX? |
Can you even get a three row GLE in stock? They aren’t common, and I thought you had to order them. Their third row is tiny. What about bmw x?m7? |
| Have a Kia suv from 10 years ago and have been very happy with it. Low maintenance (both number of repairs and cost). Don’t know about resale as I keep my cars for a while, and in VA faster depreciation just means lower car tax-yay! |

Kia reliability stats are on par with Toyota and Honda now.
Also gotta love the warranty- 100k Miles/10 years. We love our sorento. We could afford a Lexus or Honda Pilot but the sorento has been an amazing value. |
Thank you for posting this. We already own a BMW 530i and are in the market for a SUV. While we can afford the more expensive ones, I love the price, look and warranty of both the Sorento and the Telluride. I'm trying to convince my DH that it doesn't make sense to buy another expensive vehicle. Thanks again. |
| Have you checked out the 3-row Hyundai? |
| Every single Kia dealership is shady. For that reason alone I would not ever get a Kia. I was lied to left and right, shook on a price, had it on paper, and then the next day shady dealers told me, "oh, no, that is the price without...." NEVER, for that reason alone. |
We bought a Kia and a Chrystler. The Kia experience was fine. The Chrystler dealer lied left and right. They would "fix" the bill to remove the "mistake" but add a different erroneous chage elsewhere. So shady. |
My Honda dealer was shady like this too. I will never get another car from them again. Our experience at Subaru was a pleasure and completely straightforward. We are really happy with our new Ascent btw. |

It's not a bad approach. It used to be the luxury cars were the only ones with the latest technology like back-up camaras, blind spot monitoring, etc. Now that the cost of technology has come down, and they all have that.
How much do you value ride/handling, and road noise? The Audi (saying as an Audi owner) probably handles betters in the turns than a Kia and is a better driving "experience" but not everyone cares about that. Take both out and see if the road noise bothers you. If I'm calling someone from my car, they never realize it because it's so quiet in the car. |
