Every single Kia dealership is shady. For that reason alone I would not ever get a Kia. I was lied to left and right, shook on a price, had it on paper, and then the next day shady dealers told me, "oh, no, that is the price without...." NEVER, for that reason alone.
We bought a Kia and a Chrystler. The Kia experience was fine. The Chrystler dealer lied left and right. They would "fix" the bill to remove the "mistake" but add a different erroneous chage elsewhere. So shady.
My Honda dealer was shady like this too. I will never get another car from them again. Our experience at Subaru was a pleasure and completely straightforward. We are really happy with our new Ascent btw.
This is one area where non-luxury brands can learn from luxury brands. The luxury brands do a lot better job of monitoring quality standards at their dealers and cutting down on shady practices. They solicit a lot of customer feedback (directly from the manufacturer) and any low rating and you'll be getting a call from the owner of the dealership and the district manager too. That said, you only deal with this during the day you are purchasing, compared ot the many years you'll own the vehicle. So it's a short-term annoyance.
