I agree with mini sandwiches. I would do turkey/cheese and maybe some with sunbutter. Add fruit kabobs, chips and maybe veggies/dip. |
Agree. Wegman's can do a kid sandwich platter too if you want to make it easy. |
At least a vegetarian can eat pizza. Its very uncomfortable if others are eating meal and you cannot. I don't care if there is no food but please say no vegetarian food so we can eat a meal in advanced or we have to eat one after we leave or mine will get hungry and ask to leave the party early, which annoys the host. |

![]() Nothing wrong with cheese quesadillas, but they’re so blandly American that you can get them almost anywhere. |
I’m a NP and you’re being a jerk. Vegetarianism is common enough that you should plan on at least a couple families being veg. I also try to make sure there are options that aren’t really clearly non-Kosher or non-Halal— even though I have none of those dietary restrictions. But then again, I’m a good host. |
Hummus and pita

How is fruit, vegetables, cheese and crackers no vegetarian food? I agree that if you served something like meat chili and nothing else, then yes warn people. But cheese and crackers is an entree in my mind. |
OP back - thanks everyone. I like the idea of Hawaiian bun sandwiches - I’m just afraid of having to pick up soggy buns and lettuce shreds all evening.
If we end up serving something that a guest can’t eat b/c of an allergy or dietary restriction, we always have a special item for them. |
Get a Costco tray of sandwiches.
Having said that, my kids got a kick out the Subway super long sandwich. |
We had cheese quesadillas, build your own shredded chicken tacos, black beans, chips and salsa for my son’s 5th BD |
That's not a meal. That's a snack. |
We got subway platters. They were better as we could get a huge mix. Everyone told me most adults don't eat. We didn't have any left and we way over ordered. |
