11:57 is easily one of the worst takes I’ve ever read on DCUM so that’s really saying something. |
because I'm so tired of people buying into the healthcare system without thinking and without doing any type of research. My doctor says it therefore it must be true. It has nothing to do with the doctor (or pharmacist or hospital or drug manufacturer etc) wanting to take your money and not particularly caring about the outcome. Look at the state of healthcare in our country..of the millions of people affected by opioids or other medications that cause undue harm. These people don't care about you. They care about your money. THINK! |
In your case, with the train of thought that you are displaying, thinking is overrated. |
Chlldbirth has killed women and babies for as long as there has been women and babies. Things can go wrong in an instant, and to purposefully by choice put yourself in a position where you and your child do not have access to basic medicine to recover is negligent. It’s not big pharma out to steal your money or a criminal patriarchy trying to keep women down. So refuse the induction or the epidural and sit in a bathtub. Just do it where there’s an operating room and a neonatal unit right down the hall. |
this is not a good look for you, especially co-opting black women's struggles. |
I THINK that rhetoric like yours is what led to this baby's death. the hospital is the place to be to deliver a baby - especially breech. you're spouting anti-science nonsense. |
I^ I am not a homebirther by any stretch, or a natural birther. Epidural all the way for me
But given that the US truly does have abysmal fetal and maternal mortality rates, like truly abysmal, the same argument could apply: anyone who would knowingly take the risk of a hospital birth given the statistics, is taking their baby's life in their hands. Try to separate emotion. Women make choices that feel right and while it is true some babies would be better off in the hospital birth, the reverse is true as well. Just stop the name calling and try to LISTEN. |
I bet you think you are a white messiah. Not all doctors are as you describe. You should try a little therapy to understand why you are so angry and feel it’s ok to stereotype a whole profession. The love of my life was a doctor who entered war zones to save the innocent and he literally gave his life for his patients. You sound very troubled. |
Giving birth is THE MOST dangerous thing most women do in their lifetimes. I have nothing against qualified midwives who know when a doctor or hospital is needed. The second she realized this baby was beech, she should have called an ambulance. This woman wasn’t licensed AND had horrendous judgment. |
You initiated the name calling by calling a perfect stranger a dumb ass and insulted an entire profession. |
Home birthers are stupid. It's dangerous and negligent. |
+1 And, angry PP, do you think this unqualified midwife who charged $4,000 wasn’t after money? |
So did the mother not receive general medical care during her whole pregnancy? Bewcuse has she she would have known well before labor that baby was breech. If she did know this and proceeded with a home birth anyway, I’m not sure why she shouldn’t be charged as well. As someone who had to have a c section due to a breech baby, a) YES YOU KNOW that baby is breech because they do ultrasounds repeatedly once they see your baby is breech since their flipping or not determines your birth plan and b) this baby’s life would have been saved due to a c section. Disgusting. |
Would love for you to post those articles. Could you also include your source for these statements? Home births are always safer. Fact. Most home births are safe and most are much safer than being in a germy money making hospital with dozens of hands in the pot, none knowing what the other is doing. Thanks! |

Does this look like the same person? She does say she's a doula and clearly into alternative medicine--the fundme is to send her to a Kansas alternative medicine facility for problems she has due to a "stomach rupture" (perhaps a self-diagnosis? otherwise you'd think there would be more about actual hospitals). Pretty sure it's the same person. |
