| Upside for the school! |
| I’m Catholic and I absolutely side with the school. I would hope my children’s Catholic school would do the same and continue to show love by supporting this teacher. |
THere are plenty of non-catholic teachers at catholic schools. How is this an issue of credibility? |
And there should not be. Non-Catholics have no business teaching Catholic children. In Christ SSPX poster |
Is catholic math really different from other maths? Wouldn't you just want the best teacher? |
|
It’s just so hard to wrap my mind around religious hate. The Catholic Church has no business up in people’s sexual choices. After all, many of them choose small children and the Archdiocese of Washington is cool with it.
Let God sort them all out. |
Ignore this person. SSPX is not a canonical organization. |
| I don’t know. I can kind of understand where they are coming from. Homosexual marriage is not recognized by the Catholic Church. So according to the church, this teacher is living with and sleeping with someone outside of wedlock and discussing it with the students. If it was an unmarried heterosexual teacher living with a partner and talking about it with the kids, they would sure as shit be fired. And if this teacher was unmarried or just kept it to himself, it probably would continue to be ignored. |
BS. http://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=25155&repos=4&subrepos=2&searchid=1707558 The Society has authority to ordain priests and its marriages/confessions are recognized. How much more “canonical” can you get? Rome is playing word games at this point |
You need to visit a confessional for your posts. I also think you aren't actually Catholic and are an anti-Catholic troll trying to start something. |
I’m a Traditional Catholic who attends Masses of the Society of St. Pius X. I know it must be shocking to see Catholics who still believe what the Church taught for 1900 years before Vatican 2. sspx.org In Christ SSPX poster |
| Team Church. If I were an administrator at this school, I would use my connections to help this teacher get a new job at a non-Catholic school with the highest of recommendations if this person was great in the classroom. Teachers know what they're signing up for when they go to work for Catholic schools. Yes, there are probably some teachers who are heterosexually cohabitating, but they don't announce this in the newspapers. Same with divorced and remarried people - they might have annulments, but this usually isn't announced in the newspapers if they don't. |
| What's up with this diocese? There was another case that ended up n national news. The Indianapolis diocese cannot be the only diocese where there are gay teachers. Why are the only 0ne where its becoming public? |
I don’t live there, but it sounds to me like there are some cafeteria Catholics with a lot of money in this diocese. |
Maybe I missed something, but it's not at all clear from the article that the teacher discussed his marriage with his students. It sounds like someone found out about it (hard to keep one's marriage totally private, after all) and made an issue of it. I doubt they are prepared to fire all the unmarried but sexually active teachers, or the teachers who use artificial birth control, or the teachers who violate some other aspect of Catholic teachings. |
