| You can try NCIVF but if you have empty follicles with stim, very likely you will in NCIVF. My first NCIVF round had an empty follicle. |
No,I’m not. My 1 egg is at t ball practice right now. |
What are you doing now? |
| I totally get feeling. Demoralized but I would try again. What if? |
| Xo |
| I had this happen on my first IVF. Only one egg was retrieved. I did an estrogen priming protocol for my second IVF, which was successful. |
+1 My wife worked with Dr. Davis at Cornell (and Dr. Braverman also before he passed away). On an immune protocol, she froze her embryos on day 1 and our second child resulted from that. Obviously not tested. I agree that you shouldn't give up - IVF is so much a numbers game and a matter of luck, IMO. |

I'd say keep going for it if you have coverage and it's not going to financially drain your family. If it's too stressful, I'm sure you already know it in your gut you want to stop. Yes, only one egg is not a great IVF result, but it still could be the one that becomes your future child.
As for the people saying focus on your first child, I'm sure you already are. If anything, your failed cycles are only making you even more grateful of your child. |
| They say that stims are not good for DOR, and with NCIVF you ovulate your best egg each month. The process is very similar to an IUI, and it's much cheaper and probably less emotionally draining. I would try that before doing another stim cycle. |
| OP, any update? Did the egg fertilize? |
It did! I'm very grateful but still realistic about the odds. Clinic only does FETs so I have to hope this little thing gets to blast stage and that it's biopsy is normal. Still a lot of hurdles but I'm glad it fertilized. |
why? it's not better for the embryo, it just gives you more information. |
i guess the thinking is if it's not going to make it to day 5 it wont make it in you |
but we don’t know that |
Congrats on it fertilizing!!! |
