Weight yourself once a day and at the same time every day (first thing in the morning) and track the trend over time to see if you are losing, gaining or maintaining. Daily weight fluctuation are completely normal. You either need to accept that and not let it get to you or you need to stop weighing yourself so frequently.
I weigh myself daily and for me this has been huge. i know it will fluctuate, can usually predict when it will go up (day after a hard workout, big meal or too much salt) and I don't let it get to me. I use the trend over the month to measure my progress, not the day to day weight. |
| DO NOT weight yourself more than once a day. Once or twice a week is fine, and keep track of trends overall. |
| NP - several months ago, I started weighing myself every day and lost 25 lbs. I stopped weighing myself daily and gained 8 lbs back. Back to daily weighing. |
| I always weigh 2-3lb more at the end of the day and a salty meal takes 2-3 days to flush out. I find I need daily weigh ins to prevent the weight creeping back on, but I find that weighing once a day, first thing in the morning after urinating and before showering works for me. More often than that does not give me more useful data. |
