Does anyone have experience with moving from MoCo to Howard?

Is it all of the Thai restaurants, the nail salons, the insane traffic, the lack of English speaking humans, or the over crowded schools?

Some people like actual suburbs, having neighbors they can connect with, being halfway between two cities, and not having to take 25min to drive 2 miles.

Howard is better because it doesn't have all the self imposed problems that MCPS forces on itself. It doesn't have a screwed up curriculum that it wasted millions on and now has to replace quickly because the kids all have gaps. It never had the inane everyone gets a P grading system that MCPS had to dump. It doesn't have the weekly news study on another MCPS staff member using a kid. It doesn't have the same level of grade inflation or non-existent discipline policy. Its a very good and NORMAL school system.

Another plus is that if your child wants to go to UMD it will be easier coming from Howard County than Montgomery County. The W schools alone could fill up the incoming class at UMD. Combine that with kids in the magnets and other solid schools like QO etc and there is a lot of competition for the number of spots that can go to Montgomery County. Howard is much smaller.
