| My kid and most of his friends are not into gaming, so they just find other things to do. Food and a little independence go a long way. |
| -1 on the gaming system. That’s not really socializing. |
This. This is how boys interact at that age. I usually kick my son and his friend outside for a while too. |
Your post exhausts me. What are you going to do with your free time and mental energy when your kids move out? |
how do you find out if other parents are this permissive? this makes me uncomfortable. |
| We don’t have a gaming system, but we have a tv, a lot of food, new board games 4x a year, and a great sound system. |
I wouldn’t want to send my kid to your house |
seriously glad my kid doesn't hang with kids like yours. |
Who are you talking about pp? The parent with the virtual reality room? |
I’m curious what you find permissive? She knows it’s a hang out house but is trying to enforce rules and keep an eye on things. It’s realistic that someone might have sex in your house despite the best laid plans. (No pun intended). My friends would do it in the bushes, laundry room, and similar at each other’s houses. She’s strict about drinking and doesn’t condone but concedes these days it’s pretty hard to know if kids are vaping whatever substance. |
What are you uncomfortable with? |
If your kid is asking to go to their house, they are this permissive. |
Not sure what is permissive here? |
I’m the poster. I’m a bit confused too. Yes kids hang out here, but we have strict limits on number, have cameras so no sneaking in or out, I do not allow drinking or you to come over if you have been drinking. I call parents if something is going on. I don’t allow kids to smoke anything. I try to be around a lot and no kids in the house if we aren’t there. They can eat and listen to what they want though. I guess that’s permissive?? |
| pP If you’re responding to the could Kids have had sex or vaped pot at my house they could at yours too. It’s not allowed. But teens get by with a lot even with the best attempts. |
