You have a bigger problem than gaining 2 lbs.

Huh? Where does she say that she is drinking a bottle of wine every night? In fact, she says a few glasses of wine a week.

No, OP is not drinking a bottle a night...except on Fri and Sat. Below is a copy of the OP. Note the bolded portion:

“Several friends and coworkers started keto and have reported huge losses. I have been doing keto for 2 weeks with my only "cheats" being overdoing the wine on the weekends, like two bottles over Friday and Saturday night...but that's kind of my thing....and I have GAINED 2 pounds. I have committed to no more than 1 glass of wine per night at the most and 3 or 4 no wine nights per week. Does anyone do keto and still have a few glasses of dry white wine per week and lose? I just don't get it...”

Between Fri and Sat night, 2 bottles. During the other 5 days, OP has 1 glass each on 1-2 of those nights.
Drinking an entire bottle of wine yourself for 2 nights in a row is a problem.

Oh, lord - I totally skimmed that post, sorry. Yeah, there is no mystery as to why that person isn't losing weight.

I had to give it up. After a while, I didn’t miss it anymore. Lost 15 ponds so far.

Maybe wine doesn't need to be Your Thing anymore.

What would you like to be known for, other than wine?

She probably wants to be known for being skinny. But OP has ghosted, so we'll never know...

It’s Memorial Day, aka another excuse for drinking an entire bottle of wine.

I’m not going to be sober forever, but I will be until I reach my goal weight. And even after, I realize now that drinking needs to be reserved for truly special occasions

Plus I feel better!

You do you.

Please realize that drinking is not problematic for everyone. It sounds like you were using food and alcohol for numbing purposes, and that is why you became overweight, it is not the same for everyone.

If it’s keeping you from your weight loss goals, it’s obvious that it’s problematic. Duh.

And I am doing me, honey, and losing weight in the sober process.

Oh please. Or could it be too much food? Sanctimonious much?

Hi, OP. Well then why don’t you eliminate the food and just drink the wine. Let us know how that works out.

FWIW, two bottles of wine are more than 1200 calories.

I enjoy having wine on the weekends and I've been managing to lose weight.

If you ever go out for a night on the town you will see plenty of thin people enjoying cocktails.

Just be sure to account for the calories and don't overdo.

Fad diets are stupid people. Not good for you in the long run. Learn to eat healthy and in moderation.

Good Lord.

It's about calories, and bottle of wine has over 600 calories. You could just drink wine and lose weight. You will not be in ketosis if drinking sugar. That is just such a simple thing to understand. This is like my sister's ILS trying to lose weight on atkins, and eating toast! Cause it is fine if it is not "fresh" bread but toasted!(This is not a joke, they really thought this!)

Keto helps me to eat healthy and in moderation. Today I'm having baked fish and brussels sprouts for lunch. Tonight I'm having grilled chicken and a spinach pecan salad. Tomorrow I'll have taco salad (seasoned ground beef over salad greens topped with green pepper, tomato, avocado, olives, cheese, taco sauce and a dab of sour cream). Friday will be Eggroll in a Bowl (ground chicken, coleslaw and Asian inspired seasonings)....

These are real, home cooked meals and I know the ingredients that I'm eating. Drinking some wine on the weekends and/or some spiked seltzers is not going to undo my diet.
