So tired of blowdrying my hair!

Try the Living Proof in shower styler. It adds a little more control to air dried styles so you get a defined texture.

I also tire of blow drying my long thick hair, so most days I wear it pulled back into a chignon.

Genius.

Do you work out (strenuously, sweat all over hair kind of work out)?

Can you just decide that you like your non-blowdried hair? Perhaps work with a stylist to give you a cut specifically for that.

As someone who also has wavy hair, it’s not that easy. I like my hair air dried in the summer when I’m at the beach or vacation but for work, it just looks too beachy. And my air dried hair looks terrible after sleeping on it so I end up washing it even more!

Too beachy?
I'm sorry, but you're all too hung up on a certain professional look. If you could wear your natural hair at work, and have it just be clean and tidy, it would help to break this image that women need to primp for work. Make-up, heels, blow-drying, nails, etc... all the things that men don't need to do. All they do is shave, and some don't even do that.

You might not like your natural look, but I seriously doubt that it's not work appropriate. Of course it's fine for work.

She's not in it to break an image, she's in it to look good. Yes men don't have to primp but no one admires men for their looks.

Not OP, but my air dried look is not work appropriate. It looks like I’m in White Snake in the mid-80s, or maybe like a witch in a cheap Shakespeare production. That’s with an expensive hair cut and expensive products. The only time I can let it air dry is when I’m actually at the beach, when I do get the beach look. I would wear that to work!
If I can’t blow dry, for me it’s better of just skip washing it.

Post a photo of similar hair, because I don't believe you.

Some men look really good-always have a fresh haircut, shaved or groomed facial hair, hair product, crisp clothes and shined shoes, smell nice, etc. Some men look rumpled, with hair coming out their noses and ears, unruly brows, gross nails, shaggy hair, wrinkled, ill fitting clothes, scuffed shoes etc. I certainly notice the difference.

Use some dry shampoo if needed (but try not to use it too much because it can be bad for your hair). Also, I’ve started using Living Proof Style Extender, and it definitely keeps my hair looking nicer for longer so I don’t need to wash it as often.

Can you recommend a dry shampoo? I've tried a few brands but none I really liked how my hair looked, smelled, and felt.

I love the way Cake beauty smells. They have dark, medium, and light powders to blend with your hair color.

Agreed, but here we're not discussing such a stark difference in self-care. We're discussing whether showing one's natural hair is appropriate for work. Don't tell me men worry about this I refuse to believe that OP looks unprofessional with non-blow-dried hair. Truly, the standards certain women put upon themselves are too high.

This works only if you are never doing anything to work up a sweat or outdoors for any period of time. For most people, the bottom is going to start getting wavy within a day or so and need to be redone and by day 3 it’ll be done. It’s probably a great idea if your hair texture veers toward straight anyway and you don’t do anything that causes you to sweat even a little but I think for anyone who walks or works pout or goes outside for any period of time this isn’t feasible.

To be fair, you can do some weight lifting or walking outdoors. Heavy running or working out like a spin class? No. But personally I think diet is more important anyway.

I'm pretty sure that my hair fits this description, but I have NEVER been told that I look unprofessional, nor do I think I look unprofessional. I have naturally curly hair, and it can get a good bit of volume when the humidity is high. So what? I am groomed, dressed appropriately, and exude confidence in both my work and appearance. And I think that my curly whitesnake hair rocks!

When I air dry it, my hair looks positively awful- flat, frizzy, and goes in between wavy and straight all over. Are there any products, tips, things I can do so I don't have to blow dry every day?

Where do you go? Having trouble finding somewhere cheap. Even Bubbles charged me $45.

I have similar hair to you, OP! What complicates mine is that most is wavy but the top layer is stick straight and very heavy, so no matter how I want to wear it, some styling is needed. I was doing the rough dry with hair dryer then Revlon thing, but after about a year I found that I was frying my ends, even with heat protectant product. I recently splurged and got the Dyson Airwrap and it’s a game changer. Today I went from hair that was quite wet (maybe 10 min of air drying) to looking like I had a blowout in under 15 minutes. The tool is very lightweight, so it’s not tiring to use and still pretty novel and fun for me. It was an investment but so far I think well worth it to not hate doing my hair, to be able to go from wet to not just dry but nice in a short amount of time, and maintain my hair’s health.
