| I’ve been at my job about a year and get 20 days PTO plus one floating holiday. Next year this will bump up to 25+1. Every two years we get an additional week until maxing out at 35 or 40 (not sure). |
|
Been at the job for 24 years. I am in a good fringe group: 10 Holidays + 29 PTO.
Most of the company maxes out at 20 PTO. |
| 25 days/year, not including when office is closed 10 days over Xmas/NY and of course the other standard holidays. Accrue one sick day/month which doesn't max out. Work in academia. |
| I’m at a mid-sized law firm. I think the official line is that I get three weeks of vacation, but I’ve found in practice that you can go away as much as you want as long as you are billing your hours. No one is tracking our days. Sometimes I luck out and schedule my vacation at a slow time, and sometimes I work a lot on vacation. |
|
Everyone gets 20 days plus the week between Christmas and New Year’s. And 9 sick days. Plus 8 holidays.
I think this is pretty generous. |
| Given that you have a lot of work experience, it's completely reasonable for you to negotiate for an additional week or two as a part of your comp package. There is no way in h*&^ I would take a job with two weeks' vacation. 5 weeks is what I would require (even if I had to take 2 of those weeks unpaid). |
| I’ve been at one company for the past 8 years. 5 weeks vacation, all federal holidays, 2 weeks sick. Not bad for the U.S.A., I suppose. |
What company is this? And PPs please post vacation/sick vs Pto. |
| I am about to start a new job and not happy that I get 15 days, plus a handful of federal holidays. My current job has 5 weeks. |
| 10 days is standard. Both DH and I had the same, with an additional 5 days offered after five years, I think. |
|
Wow 10 days seems insane, coming from a nonprofit. And my nonprofit is on the stingy side. Junior to mid level gets 15 pto combined vacation and sick. Senior gets 25.
|
| 6 weeks, large non profit with 10+ years seniority. |
| Please clarify PTO vs vacation/sick |
| Anyone have unlimited? How does that work for maternity? |
|
5 weeks vacation, 2 weeks sick leave. All use it or lose it.
I don’t think anyone tracks it anymore. Small nonprofit. |
