Churchill science teacher escorted off campus today?

I wonder what the final straw was that got him fired.

Must have been a biggie if the Damascus Principal still has a job, but this teacher doesn’t.

They said he was escorted off campus, not fired. I’ll believe it when I see it. Is this teacher also a coach? Some here often talk about Churchill’s coaches being harassing and problematic to girls.

No. The biology teacher is not a coach

OMG.

So no letter and hasn’t hit the news yet?

Wait the principal sent no email home?!

I feel like there are a lot of people here jumping to the conclusion that this must be something related to child abuse. But I've known teachers fired for test security issues, and for financial management (e.g. skimming from the coffers of a club they moderate). I also imagine that if a teacher was arrested for something unrelated to school (e.g. tax evasion) that might lead to them being escorted off campus too.

I’m not assuming that. However, if an arrest of anyone for any crime was made on campus during school hours, you’d think there would be a letter.

I wonder if this was a mistaken identity or false charges situation and admin needs to tread carefully.

Yes, a letter, but people saying that CPS should have been called, for example, are definitely jumping to conclusions.

There was a letter or there wasn't a letter?

If there was a letter, someone would have posted it here by now.

I have no idea whether there was a letter. I agree that one might expect a letter, and that it would be a good idea to send one.

A teacher kissing a student would be cause for CPS and SVI to investigate prior to MCPS conducting their own investigation. There was no letter from the principal to the Churchill community.
