Anyone have an iq less than 100?

They function fine in their own puzzle piece but it explains why "getting out" is really not a reality for them. Social services does a much better job helping these individuals when we teach them how to enhance small parts of their daily life and not try and sell them the american middle class dream that really doesnt exists anymore. Getting 1/6 of my clients enrolled in a community college isn't a success. Getting 5/6 to learn how the apply the bus schedule to their daily life/maximize all routes and put in place a distress plan if they miss = a success.

I used to work for a public defenders office and a large portion of our clients had iqs in this range as well.

I used to be 129 but I'm certain that's gone down.

My child's IQ is in the 130s, yet they are struggling in school. IQ is only one piece of it.

Age does that to you.

Thank you for admitting this. What was school like for you? Were you in advanced classes? Did school seem difficult to you?

3) IQ is correlated with career success and wealth, but not necessarily happiness

We all live in Lake Woebegone. Where all the children are above average...

When I remodeled my kitchen I had to renew all electrical wiring. The electrician ( an engineer with Masters) was so dumb that half of his work had to be redone - he hooked up the ovens and a dw together and tried to prove to me that it's the code that I can't use it at the same time. I think IQ is very fluid and can't really be measured, especially by profession.

There must be some posters on DCUM who meet this profile. If so, what is your job and what was school like for you?

Me thinks you’ve not an idea of the difference between mean and median. . . Sub 90 for you?

Long time since probability theory but I suspect the median for IQ scores is pretty much the same as the mean. You get those big discrepancies with very discontinuous probability distributions, like the difference between the mean and median incomes in a population consisting of the coal miners and the coal mine owner.

Not only that but test taking skills go down (since I don't take tests anymore), lack of math practice, etc. Just for fun I just took a couple of tests, I scored 125 on the one that had more vocabulary and spacial sequencing and I scored 98 on the one that was mostly find the next number in the sequence. I was going to take a third but I ran out of time.

As the daughter of an electrician (although not sure what is meant by "related professions" although low voltage cable work is unlicensed in quite a few states) but I take issue with electricians averaging lower than police officers or cleaners or clerical people.

Why would the electrician have been an engineer with a master's degree? The training for a licensed electrician is quite different, and I was told once (by an EE student) they don't even get to play with a soldering gun until junior year. Do you actually mean that the overs and dw have the same breaker???

Most of the parents of the AAP kids at my son's school easily have IQs under 100.

there is almost zero overlap between the skill set of electricians and electrical engineers. now sure why an engineer was wiring your house.
