I have tried a bunch of their soups at the Takoma location and really like them, so I wonder if it’s the storebought ones that aren good? |
| Yep, they are awful — even at the Takoma location. You’d think if you specialize in one thing, you’d do that one thing well. Yuck. I also wonder how they are staying in business. |
I love the "cream" of broccoli but haven't seen it in years.
Gazpachos are good. |
| I am a vegetarian and I love soup. I often make my own soups. However, these soups are bland and flavorless! I try them periodically and want to like them, but nothing helps them. Blech. |
| Maybe people think they have to taste bland to be healthy, so they buy them but then they go home and add bacon and bacon grease to them! |

I'm shocked with all of the dissatisfaction here. I knew Soupergirl way back when she came to a federal office bldg farmers market, maybe in 2010-11 before she got super successful. Loved her bean soups, she introduced me to vichyssoise. Havent kept up with her products since then.
Have any of you provided feedback to the store? |
I could have written this myself. One time recently, they were offering samples at Whole Foods, and my kids and I each tried a couple different kinds, and they were all lousy. I found myself wondering how those samples could possibly help sales. (I should clarify--I have also bought the soups, both from the Takoma location and from Whole Foods. I'm not basing my whole opinion off of samples I ate with a plastic spoon from a paper cup.) |
| I’ve tried several at the Takoma Park location and I don’t find them bland...I like the vegetable curry the best. Most soups and takeout food are so over salted and seasoned that it’s nice to have something clean and healthy. |
There's clearly a lot if people that like her soup the way it is so there's no reason for them to change. I just switched to other soups that I like better. |
| The gazpacho! I can’t wait for summer |
+1 |
| I love soup but never heard of Soupergirl. Is it one of those MLM schemes? |
No, it's a woman who owns a local soup business. They have their own shops but also sell soups at Costco and other stores. |
| The butternut squash that they sell at Costco is horrible. Flat, bland and bottom ng |
| I love all of her soups! The salt level is just right for me, however I also think that most commercial soups are too salty to my taste. So adding more salt didn't solve the problem for you folks? |
