| I have a RR Sport with a 3rd row. It's not captains chairs but the 3rd row is easy to get into via the truck or fold-in second row. |
Yeah. I don't get it. What's the big deal? You load the third row first then the second row. If kids are old enough to just climb into the backseat, they're old enough to lift the seat to get out Plan where everybody sits based on order of dropoff or pickup. We do this and it is quick and efficient. I'm really struggling to see the "problem." |
I’m not the earlier poster but I assume that if there are car seats involved there is no easy way to get into the third row. Hence wanting captains chairs. |
| Even the third row of the suburban is tight |
My Nissan Armada has captain’s chairs with room to get to the third row. |
| xc90 |
anyone considering buying this car realizes it is a first world problem. It's just that we have choices and it's disappointing that you can't get to the third row from the second row. I have a bmw x5 with a third row currently. I am well aware of kids climbing over the seat...trying to squeeze into the third row by moving second row up ( with car seats) and entering and exiting through the trunk. It sucks! This is why moms like captain's chairs! we want easy and fast and we don't want muddy footprints on the second row seats. other car companies seem to understand that this is what families want. I'm disappointed that BMW does not have this option. I'm going to be ok though! I will just move on to another car. |

also, you can't put babies and toddlers in the third row. so as someone mentioned timing everything for drop off....that doesn't work if you have a baby or toddler.
and sometimes even 4 year olds need help buckling. it's so annoying to try and squeeze back to the third row and buckle them. Ask me how I know! my next car will have captain's chairs with room to walk through them. |
| You all need to buy mini vans. Or have fewer kids. |
I had a Yukon with captains chairs and a third row. It still sucked. |
Yup. There is just no way to make a third row easy to get to without it being a huge car. I don't know what people are expecting. If you need to put in car seats, get a mini van. There is a solution for you. You just don't like it. |
| acadia, enclave, traverse... I know there are others too. There are options besides minivan and suburban |
| Are there two or three seats in the second row? (Not that I could afford one) |
you can get either. a bench seat with three seats or captains chairs with 2 seats. the captain's chairs are very close together |
| I have both and the Highlander is not nearly as nice as a BMW interior. Don’t kid yourself. |
