OP here. Well I remember sitting in our kitchen and my mom and grandma balling and talking about taking the deal or taking the time and kinda comparing each "sentence." I guess that could be dramatized in my head but I am pretty sure there was so discussion/review of each sentence. |
. No none of us acknowledged it for years. |
| Did your pets also have to change their names, and if so, was this traumatic for them? |
| Were you able to reconnect with your grandparents and other relatives? |
| Did you have a story to tell your new friends/classmates about where you lived before & why you moved? Are you married &/ a parent &, if so, when & how did you tell your spouse/kids’ other parent? How long would your dad’s prison sentence have been had he not taken the deal? |
|
Did you or your family undergo any plastic surgery and if so is it an improvement? Did you have to otherwise disguise your looks?
How and what are you doing now? |
| HOw far away did they move you? |
| Is there a Lifetime movie about your story? |
What is your legal name now? The old name or the WP name? |
| Op here. No one got plastic surgery!!! My mom drastically changed her hair color and cut and my dad shed 40 lbs and kept it off. He may have grown facial hair in the beginning too. We eventually got back in contact with relatives but my parents never once went back to our home state. My siblings and I kept our WP names. My parents went back but my parents always called us our birth names inside the home. My dad's sentence would have been 22.5 years min served. No pets. |
| Op here. Husband and close friends know about this time of my life. I'll tell my kids when they are older. |
Lol no! There are a lot more WP's than you realize. Or were at least. My dad's case was not particularly newsworthy. |

Were you able to dance to DISCO in a club during your teenage years?
|
| Did you quality of life changed significantly? Was it penthouse to walk-up apartment? |
