+1. We don’t know quality or craftsmanship in this country anymore. My daughter is wearing a sweater today that my mother and I both wore from Wanamakers (which wasn’t even that high end in the day). |
On the other hand, gymboree's website has "going out of business" on their site. :/ |
FYI - gift cards had to be used by Saturday for Gymboree - I randomly tried to use store credit today and missed it by a day ![]() |
I just used up a gift card and ordered online. Their website says they are no longer accepting coupons. |
This is the OP. The clerk may have been incorrect about the gift cards being invalid, but there were definitely bold “25% off everything!” Signs plastered all over the store. |
I don’t think the clerk is incorrect. I heard back in late January from two different branches that gift cards and store credits would not be honored after some mid-February date (I forget the exact date). I didn’t love J&J’s style but they were my go-to for DD’s holiday dresses, which would get heavily discounted by January. I’ll miss them. |
I was at a J&J today. They had liquidation signs plastered all over the store ?. |
I honestly am shocked that there were people who actually shopped there. There is no universe in which I'll spend over $100 for a toddler dress. |
There is no reliable news source stating that Janie and Jack is closing all of its stores. Some locations are closing, but according to the latest news reports available, the company is still trying to find a buyer for Janie and Jack. I sincerely hope they do not close all stores; I love the quality and style of these clothes. |
Ok, cool. You do realize that (1) very few of their dresses (if any) are over $100, (2) the stuff was routinely on sale for reasonable prices, and (3) they sell more than just dresses? I guess it doesn't matter since you'll never get the chance to shop their now, but you can at least stop flaunting your incorrect point of view. You're welcome. |
My daughter owns a $280 J&J dress that her grandmother bought her. They exist. But if you shop(ped) there on sale you can((could) get great deals. PP is right that J&J was far more expensive than average children's clothing stores. Don't act like they are crazy. It is totally a rich person clothing store. Or a person-who-spends-too-large-a-percentage-of-their-income-on-children's-clothes store. But PP you are also being obnoxious. Plenty of people go to J&J to buy a one time fancy outfit because they need that or want to put their kids in Christmas bests or something. Or they shop the clearance rack there. So you don't need to be an ahole about it either. |
Oh no- I won’t be able to get a smocked Jon Jon for my toddler for $120. Oh wait- $60 bc of the great sales they have!
Eye roll NP |
I once went there to get swim trunks for my then-18 month old. They were sixty bucks. Sixty. And that didn’t include the rash guard! |
Janie and Jack doesn’t carry smocked Jon-Jons. It’s much more casual and/or bougie. Try to be better informed before your next snark fail. |
You know their entire inventory? There is one in my hometown and I walked in a few seasons ago and there were many smocked items-this was around Easter. |
