I am just seeing this and it is probably too late to be useful to you, but we found one of the lead instructors to be very aggressive and intimidating with the kids. And this was with parents present, which led me to believe it might be worse when parents weren't around. I observed one instance where she physically grabbed my child by the arm to try to get him to clean up at the end of the day. I didn't find it a big enough deal to report to DPR, but I would not send my child there again. It might be a type of discipline that works well for others, but it is not something my kids respond well to.

We had a good experience last year at Raymond. They did bus the kids to a local pool 2-3x a week. It was a shallow pool, I was told, so kids didn't have to worry about it being too deep or anything. My daughter did have a good time and the staff seemed warm. It wasn't as exciting for her as some of the more expensive camps we sent her to, but for the money -- can't complain.

Revisiting this threat to get feedback on the DC DPR Little Explorers Camp at Mitchell Park, please. How was the experience? What activities do they do? Do they actually read, do crafts, play sports...? Do they go to a pool? Are the kids properly supervised? Are snacks or lunch provided?
