| Try getting Haiga rice. It’s a short grain, Japanese rice. But it’s half way between white and brown rice. It has the bran removed (which gives the brown rice taste) but keeps the germ. Nutritious but tastes like white rice. My favorite brand is Tamaki. |
| Why don't you wash the white rice to remove some of the starch? Maybe that would assuage some of your guilt. There are youtube videos on how to do so, but it's pretty easy. A Japanese relative taught me how and it adds 90 seconds to the prep process. |
