| If he doesn't get the Dem endorsement, will he run for SB again? |
My understanding is he won’t. |
Could he? Would it be allowed? |
Watch McElveen at any recent School Board meeting or work session. He seems checked out and only engages if the topic relates to one of a narrow set of issues that matter to him. It's hard to imagine he'd want another term on the SB just to stay in the public eye. If he does, he's going to have to raise his game. Right now, he's not making a good case that he deserves a higher office by acting bored out of his mind when other SB members are discussing how taxpayer money should be spent. |
| All I know is that McKay is a very hard-working and reasonable current board member. I certainly hope he wins the primary and the election. Fairfax would be stupid not to have someone as qualified as him and who actually wants the position in charge. |
| Just read McElveen's "green plan"...very progressive plans. Wonder how he plans to pay for all of it. No mention of where he intends to find the funds........ |
You mist enjoy it when things deteriorate. |
| Not a fan of his |
+1 |
| He's mostly known for announcing that school will be closed. |
A lot of older people don't realize how important environmentalism is to younger generations. I'm not sure enough of them will turn out to vote in an off-season primary to give McElveen the nomination, but he'll force McKay to run harder than he otherwise might. |
And, wasn't there something about a prom invitation he accepted? Doesn't have great judgment. |
| Yes, the icky promposal. Also the letter condemning UVA before the truth came out about the Rolling Stone article detailing false rape allegations. |
| He's running the AOC playbook. I don't think Fairfax is that liberal/progressive for it to work but who knows. This area keeps trending more blue. |
| Just read that the Democrat candidate for Supervisor will be decided by a primary. |
