Ryan McElveen Running for Bulova Seat (VA)

Serious question though. How is it slanderous to question a candidate's background, positions and previous political activities? How is it slanderous to question the origin of a candidate's donations? That is called being an informed voter.

Not sure where you're going with your "younger voters" statement.

That wasn’t quite what you were doing, and you know it. In any case, Samirah won by a landslide.

Younger voters recognize more readily when old Republicans launch anonymous attacks on progressive candidates. It’s a badge of honor, really.

The right candidate for the district won. Fairfax and Loudoun Counties are incredibly diverse, and elected someone who best represents them.

Congrats Delegate-Elect Samirah!

I think a glance at the FCRC page on Facebook this evening, and the religious slurs used there against the Delegate-Elect, says all that needs to be said re the opposition to his candidacy from the Republican Party. Which is quite unfortunate.

Just took a glance at it. I didn't see those slurs.

I do wonder how many of those Democratic voters realize that Samirah protested in Egypt with the Muslim Brotherhood, though. That has been under reported. How many realize that he has vowed to avenge the death of the protesters who were killed 11 days after he left the protest?

No matter, though. He won't be the Dem nominee next time.

You seriously don't consider "muzzrat" to be a slur?

Didn't see that. That's just as disturbing as some of Samirah's comments. Not as disturbing as his promise of vengeance, though.

I'm not sure why you care so much about keeping the current Egyptian government, whose actions Amnesty International has condemned, in power. They've committed atrocities, and Samirah was exercising his rights to call them out just as he criticized Ariel Sharon.

He's now an elected state delegate, and I'm sure voters will judge him in the future for how he's represented them in Richmond, not his views on the Mideast.

I wonder how many of his new constituents know that he was in Egypt protesting with the Muslim Brotherhood? I bet not too many.

The Muslim Brotherhood is more committed to democratic values than the Trump Administration.

Apparently there was a straw poll of the Mt. Vernon Democrats over the weekend for BOS endorsement. Jeff McKay won with Alicia Plerhoples close behind. McElveen and Chapman were very distant 3rd and 4th place finishers.

I busted Jeff McKay with 7 on your side putting out the vote for me signs on Richmond hwy and fairfax county parkway putting peoples life’s at risk walking around the fairfax county parkway where your not even supposed to stop and get out. Then there’s the complaint based zoning idea he came up with in neighborhoods that do not have associations are not inspected like other places !It says neighbors are to call zoning violations on there neighbors and it does not work.Mckay never goes to his worst part of Lee district and writes things down! Business being run out of homes and trash out all the time . Houses in need of repair! Strange this is the neighborhood where he grew up. On man Timothy Johnson from stafford has his carpet cleaning signs all over Richmond hwy on the back of highway signs a crime he’s been busted for! for 4 years ! The supervisors don’t pick up a pencil and go out and write things down. Timothy Johnson has a free pass mr McKay and mr stork to advertise all over you areas and all over Virginia.Wheres the public fours where people can speak. They have there little quiet vote that nobody knows anything about and puts Jeff McKay in the seat he’s been prepared for. His title is a reserved deputy sheriff! Is putting illegal sighs on Vdot roads conduct of that title!

Very hush hush!Where is the public campaigning of these people where people like myself can also speak to the people my experiences with Jeff McKay and the supervisors.why this part of fairfax county is different than other side. why a few people get a free pass to put signs all over while the supervisors never say anything even when informed.Haleysvomet@gmail.com

Troubling statement. Not true at all.
