Will Marc Elrich make it through a full term?

I sense that the piecework flacks over at Greater Greater Washington are posting again from their mothers’ basements. GGW’s Big Development funders are clearly upset that their handpicked county exec candidate did so poorly. It seems that the Big Dev echo chamber now has decided to “lean in” and start unfounded rumors about the winner.

Lol. Elrich has charisma. I mean, he’s old and overweight but he’s somehow very attractive. He also knows how to engage with people. He listens and he cares. And he has posted some pictures of himself When he was in his teens and early 20s and he was hot.

This thread is mean and unnecessary. Most Americans are overweight. Elrich is 69 years old and looks a lot better than most people his age. At least he doesn’t have a ferret sitting on his head and doesn’t dye his skin orange. But appearance should be off-limits. It’s irrelevant. If he were a woman this thread would be sexist. Grow up!

These are women I personally know who've encountered him at fundraisers, galas, other evening events, etc. Honestly, I'm shocked it didn't come out during the campaign.

He’s not some polished politician with a trophy wife and campaign literature plastered with a perfect nuclear family wife and kids and white picket fence. He’s an interesting guy, talk to him! I like that at his age he will eat and drink and be a human being. We elected him for his brains and vision and strategy, not for being a Choir Boy.
