We
Closed for Reagan. The city has to take something off of its shoulders. Same reason we close on Inauguration Day. My guess is they will make a decision/ announcement before Monday. |
| A little googling shows Ford’s funeral (most recent presidential death) was over DCPS winter break, but they closed central admin for it. It appears the kids might be off... |
Of course if it were a Democratic President, DCPS would close for the week. |
Don’t be ridiculous. |
No one thinks you’re funny. |
| So since DCPS has 1 snow day built into the calendar - would this be it? And any other times when school is closed will wrap school to the next week? |

SHUT THEM DOWN SHUT THEM DOWN SHUT THEM DOWN
SHUT IT DOWN SHUT IT DOWN SHUT IT DOWN |
| JFC you’ve got to be kidding me. NO ONE CARES about this one-term President. If my kids’ charter closes I’ll be LIVID. |
LOL! And Oh what a Show it would BE! |
Show some respect. One-term is irrelevant and you know it. Sorry about your snowflakes. Teach them some history and how to respect the dead. |
| I'd be surprised if they didn't--they closed for both Reagan and Ford, the last two presidential funerals. |
LIVID? Because the needs of many outweigh the needs of a few? Gotcha.., |
No one likes you at your school either. Leave. |
The needs of the many to do what? I really doubt there will be much disruption to the city due to the funeral. Feds holiday aside. I lived here for Reagan and Ford’s deaths and you know—I went on about my business just like every other day. I’m trying to think of what school might have traffic issues, but I can’t come up with any. Brent and Peabody are close to the Capitol, but they’re far enough it shouldn’t be a problem. So yes, I hope my kids’ learning won’t be interrupted during one of the few full weeks of school in Nov/Dec/Jan. |
