Report from the street - Wilson

anyone see what the line is like at hardy?

Is Hardy as crazy as Wilson? I'm pregnant and exhausted and am not up to a long line tonight...

This board has gone from:

The vaccine is, like, totally untested
-- to --

I will lie about having asthma and make my husband camp out all night to get it

-- to --
I must have my preferred manufacturer/ type of vaccine

-- to --
I better not have to wait too long to get my single dose shot. I will scan message posts for hours to figure out if the line is going to be short when I head over.

Heaven help the public health organizations if they succeed in getting the population vaccinated. Then we'll see the "why did they make such a big deal about swine flu?" posts. Or if they fail, in which we will see the "why didn't they do more?" posts.

PP, in all fairness, you have no idea whether the people who were posting one thing are the same as the people who were posting the other things. My guess is probably not -- "this board" is not one homogenous group.

I got to Wilson at 5:45 (earliest I could get there with baby) and the line was about 400 people. I couldn't park anywhere and I didn't have the stroller with me - my husband and I had switched cars and I forgot to move the stroller to his car. I left, but plan to try again on 11/2. Does anyone know if they have started checking DC residency? I live in Maryland, and I realize this makes me a bad person, but I've already been exposed to the virus and the clock is ticking for db.

I heard they're checking now.

Any other info on the line? Thx!

Is this true? Would love feedback from those who were there tonight!

If you've been exposed the shot isn't going to help you at this point. It takes 2 weeks and 2 doses to be effective in kids.

We got there at 7:30 - line was at least still 400 people or so - backed all the way out to Nebraska Ave from the front entrance. We kept right on driving, so not sure on checking ids, but we saw quite a few VA and MD plates on our route and in the lot.

Please keep the updates coming, we are a 20 minute walk away and are hoping to sneak in late tonight if the line dies down.

Just got back from Wilson; for future planning purposes: we got there at 4:30 and left the building at 7 pm.

They did not check IDs

The DOH guy said they would have clinics every Tues and Thurs nights from now on.

Also for future planning purposes: I got to the Wilson clinic tonight at 5:05 and the line was already to Nebraska Ave. At around 8:30, we were told that they'd run out of the multidose vaccine, which is the one my child needed. (they still had the single dose and the mist). Feeling dejected and not sure how to plan for Saturday. I intentionally didn't go early today because it sounded like at previous clinics the waits were longer the earlier you got there. I guess there is more awareness of the clinics this week than last. I don;t care how long I have to wait, I just want to make sure my kid gets vaccinated.

So, for someone that went--what was the best time to arrive? I am wondering what Sat. will bring..

Each day is different - last Saturday the wait at Hardy was really short - today when we arrived it was 90 minutes.
