| God why am I typing soup when I meant soap.... coffee stat. |
| I'll watch next week but am not interested in any characters storyline and don't see that changing. |
I'm curious about what the assistant is hiding... |
|
I thought it was ok, it held my interest for the hour. But then I read a few reviews afterward and one of them asked the question of whether the show is sending a message that suicide can be a positive thing, if you are the type of person who is always thinking of others and put all these things into place to show your friends and family how much you love and care about them, to be discovered after your death. It's pretty messed up when you think about it that way. That being said, I'm going to keep watching b/c I am very curious about what the assistant was hiding/deleting and what was really the cause of his suicide.
Also, I looked up the cast afterward and giggled to find that the woman who plays the widow is the same one who played Jacqueline Folet, the editor of French Vogue, in the Devil Wears Prada. She looked so much older in that movie, and it's over ten years old! |
| What is the assistan hiding, and how did the hook up from the support group manage to get 3 long stemmed wine glasses and a bottle of wine out of the house and how did she know to do That???? |
Anyone still watching? I watched last night and have to admit I cried during the scene where the little boy asked if his dad committed suicide because of him. I hate to say it but I do feel hooked into this show now. I'm sure it won't last beyond one season, and I hate the premise, but I am hooked.

Not hooked but have watched both episodes. I go back and forth between mildly interested and being unable to tear myself away from eh over the top details.
The father made sure the friend knew the choreography so the daughter would have a dance partner? Really? And the daughter feels reassured that this means her father was looking out for her? Just a few hours earlier she was understandably devastated. And still with the new woman who is completely entrenched in the group. I guess she was immediately accepted because she has the exact verbal patter that they do. Ugh, it's a hate watch so far yet I cannot look away. |
|
So what do you think is in that folder the assistant keeps on hiding?
Maybe she was having an affair with Jon. |
That would be too easy a plot line. It'll turn out he was helping her with some personal mess and she was trying to cover evidence of it. Or else she was the one committing some white collar crime. |
Ok this might be the most shocking part of the show! Anyway I've watched both episodes and agree with others it's melodramatic and I also find the dialogue somewhat trite, but I can see myself watching at least through winter break. I'm hoping the show will develop the Asian wife character (can't recall her name). It's just too easy to show her as a cold workaholic that deserves to get cheated on. |
| The acting is so bad. Wife and her affair partner. So bad! |
|
Ugh. I don't understand the reverence everyone has for Jon. He was thoughtful and successful, but it's as if the others have no strength or self-worth without referring to him.
Yet I will keep watching. Maybe I'm doing it for Jon.... |

| I wonder if there are plans to move the show in a lighter direction at some point. I like some of the actors but don’t know if I can watch something so depressing week after week. |
| I have enjoyed it so far. Unbelievable sure. In so many ways. One friend sleeps with a woman and suddenly she is best friends with the widow? I do not rush to watch it, but I still find it entertaining. In a night soap opera kind of way. |
