OP here- 68,000 miles

That’s a ton of miles on a car two years old.

Huh. My 2006 car just passed 75,000 miles.

Why not buy a reliable used car for $4000 total cash?

Op here- We are starting fertility treatment next month and hope to be pregnant within the next few months so I'd rather not buy an old car with super high milage (100k plus) as I want this to be a safe and reliable car that will last us years.

Terrible credit and you’re diving into costly fertility treatment! Horrible idea

Way too many miles (and, yes, I read that your husband said this is ok, but he and your father are giving you bad advice overall). This is not a good deal, OP.

I absolutely would not buy a used car with a 6 year loan.

I never said terrible credit...just said not that great of credit. It came up 615 on transunion.

Also, our fertility treatments (just medication) are completely covered through my husbands work insurance. But that's not the topic here so...

I have not checked with my bank but will tomorrow. The interest rate he told me he got for me was 9.75%

For 6 years? NO NO NO NO NO!

That's almost 3 times what is reasonable.

That’s nuts. Ask your bank. Do you have usaa.
A credit union? Get approved elsewhere.

And what do you drive now

The dealer is taking advantage of you.

OP here- I use Santander Bank. I'm going to go see them tomorrow morning and see what they could do for me. I'm starting to realize this deal is not working out in my favor.

That is an extremely high rate for interest. Your credit score is very poor. That car has very high miles for a 2 year old car. If you cannot afford this easily, how will you pay for the child/child care? Keep the one you have.

The mileage is way too high. We have fewer miles on our ‘03.

I have a 2011 with 140k. I spent 2 years driving it from Knoxville, TN to central MO. For the car OP is looking at to be at 68k in 2 years, I’d assume they did a whole lot of highway running and not be overly concerned. Take it to an independent mechanic to be sure brakes, axles, suspension are in good shape.
