This! I gasped when I read it was a lease!!

This sounds like you are reading a really exciting story! Lol...

Usually leases have mileage limits. This makes no sense.

Corporate (fleet) leases are a whole different story.

That's what I'm thinking....corporate car/business vehicle, leased and abused for two years, and then dumped.

I agree that you need to stop taking financial advice from your father and husband. They are looking at the sticker price and not at the full picture. They are saving you $900 on the sticker price but letting you pay $5000-6000 extra over the life of the loan because they didn't pay attention to the fact that this loan is a 9.75% loan for 72 months. This is the type of loan that someone who went bankrupt and had bills sent to collections gets.

Yes, that's a lesson to be learned here, OP. You may feel like you don't know as much as they do because your have bad credit, but you can learn as well as anyone and you are asking questions and learning here.

Buy the Focus posted above. Or a used Corolla or Civic.

Thanks everyone! I went to another dealer and got a 2017 Mazda CX-5 touring for a great deal through a recommendation of a friend who’s brother worked At the dealership so he hooked us up. Very happy!

Congrats op! Much better car too. The Ford was the real horror of the thread. Best of luck with upcoming treatments!

OP here- 68,000 miles

That’s a ton of miles on a car two years old.

Yea, no way would I buy a 2yr old car that has been rode like a rented mule. That is insane.

If you are just trying to get pregnant hold off on getting a car until you are actually 7-8 months pregnant. You can save more money in the interim.

Why don’t you consider a reliable Honda or Toyota with lower mileage? It will last forever and is a much more reliable car.

If your husband has better credit you should have him get the loan and work on improving your credit score. 9% plus interest rate is really high.

THIS THIS THIS. You have no idea how long it's going to take you to get pregnant, and seriously, buy a Hyundai or something more affordable with a great warranty.

Buying a used car can be a great deal but do some internet searches on the pitfalls to watch out for. For example, your monthly payment is irrelevant. Look at the total bill after multiple years of interest at 9.75%. Ouch.

Yea, dad and husband are bad at math. Stay far away from them when it comes to this sort of thing. Educate yourself and make your own decisions. It is stunning they didnt take issue with these outrageous terms. Agsin the take away is dad and DH are not to he consulted

Really, why was the Ford bad? Because it’s a Ford?

You do know the Ford Edge and the Mazda CX-9 are the same car right?

So Ford is bad, but Mazda is good, even if they’re the same car. That makes sense.

That’s funny, I didn’t see the Ford Edge on Mazda’s website. Nor did I see the Mazda on Ford’s website. Don’t be salty because fords are notoriously unreliable.

That is true for the first-generation Edge, not the second generation (2014+) which is based on the CD4 platform:

OP, check out Hyundai. They come with long warranties.

For financing with average credit you should get approved for financing through a bank before walking into the dealership, and then you can compare the rate the dealership gives you.

We just bought a Hyundai hybrid car with their standard 10 year powerttain warranty, 5 year warranty included. 0 percent financing for 60 mos. (though dealer with excellent credit).
