Trump refers to EU as "Foe" of the US

He was who is "your biggest foe globally right now"? And Trump said FIRST, the EU. The day before he meets with Putin.

Please tell us how Trump would behave any differently if he were an actual agent of the Russian government.

So the whole world is our foe, except Russia.

Are you illiterate? He said Russia is a foe.

Stop defending this idiocy. He is out of f*cking mind and doesn’t even know what he’s saying. I wish you couldn’t vote.

This is the problem. People have resorted to reading headlines. And, the MSM write headlines that are purposefully negative toward this administration.
If you read his full comments, he isn’t wrong. But, the media is counting on followers not to do that.

I didn't vote for Trump. But I'm becoming sympathetic toward his complaints of fake news because of things like this- his words are being twisted and misrepresented.

He just screwed up a meeting with the queen of England, and many people believe he's Putin's employee.

If he'd used the term "rival": OK.

In this context, at this time, there's no possible way his use of the word "foe" in connection with the EU can be acceptable.

You realize the questioner used the term "foe" right? The question was, who is the biggest competitor, the biggest foe. So Trump is guilty of taking the bait by the media, and not parsing words. Regarding the Queen, relax. We brexited hundreds of years ago and aren't beholden to her.

The exact context doesn't matter here, because the context of the context is that he just trashed May and insulted the queen. The context of the context is that it looks as if he's trying to break up the EU and NATO. In this situation, any use of the word "foe" in connection with the EU means that he is actually trying to break up the EU and NATO. He can say he misspoke, but he can't say the fact that he was talking about trade exains and excuses the use of that word.

Please get the European Union to stop aiming nukes at America. Please get them to stop attacking our elections. Please get them to stop invading other countries.

Oh wait, that is Russia, not the EU.

+1

The lack of business acumen among our prior leaders led to is being the worlds piggybank. The world must have thought our prior leaders were childlike in their stupidity. No wonder they were happy. Now they are soft and weak from the spoiling. Trump will use that fact to enrich and strengthen our already tough population .

Which is why America is the most powerful nation in the world...? You really bought into the false narrative that America is failing.

There is the clip, the question was not parsed as you suggest. It was an open question.

Nice try though.

The transcript is on the link on OP’s post.
What the pp said was, “He said with respect to trade.”

Here are his words:

“Well I think we have a lot of foes. I think the European Union is a foe, what they do to us in trade.”

So, yes, the pp was correct.

Trump claims his dad, who was born in the Bronx, was born in the EU, which didn't exist until relatively recently.

Trump supporters are facile hicks who don’t see why Obama was a better president than this piece of ah*t trash.

He's anti-EU. He can't stand when countries band together, because that makes them more powerful.

Like every bully, he constantly strives to deal one-on-one. Gang up on him, and he's defeated.

He’s said so much stupid sh*t recently toward our allies that this is just icing on the cake. He slammed Theresa May in an interview while in England, talks sh*t about Merkel all the time, there are too many examples to note. Trump supporters are so dense. You folks loooooove Putin. Why? Why do you hate the EU and idiolize authorarian governments? I know reverence for authority at any cost is a conservative principle, so that might explain it. You all are like moths to a flame for a strong man who suppress people. It’s scary.

It is scary. I know that several GOP leaders are either compromised or complicit, but that doesn’t include the rank and file who are so blinded by partisanship that they’re completely failing to see what the GOP has become.
