Ham & cheese omelets in Paris, usually served with salad and fries. I was there while pregnant with my first, and that hearty breakfast helped me to power through a busy day of walking.

Fish and chips in newspaper, eaten while sitting on the sea wall in Brighton, England. Portuguese duck rice at a farm house in the Douro Valley. Potato rosemary pizza on the Spanish Steps in Rome. Shucking oysters out of a bucket and drinking champagne in Paris.

Duck confit in Paris with a simple green salad with garlicky vinagrette. I’ve attempted to find duck confit like that stateside, but alas, have not been successful.
