My dog groomer just rescued another pit bull

relax. how often are you having your dog groomed? She will know soon enough if the new dog isn't good with the client dogs. If it starts costing her $$, she will find another solutions for her pittie.

I don't trust people who have pit bulls. I had a mellow chihuahua who was attacked two separate times by pit bulls (one was off leash) and the second attack killed her. My next dog was 14lbs and a neighbor's pit bull came up and shook her in his mouth. I think he was trying to play, but just didn't understand his own aggression. That was a pricey surgery. All 3 of those pit bull owners told me their dogs were so gentle and sweet, but they're obviously not.

I wish there was mandatory sterilization of pit bulls. That would solve this problem in a decade or so. Nearly everyone adopting pit bulls could adopt the labs or other dogs that are in the shelters instead. There's plenty of friendly dogs to adopt.

I trust that my beloved bearded collie breed has maimed enough cows and sheep in their time, as they are a herding breed. Oh but wait.. o one would consider it a problem because it’s their “job”?

Oh and those cute terriers who are supposed to flush out rats and groundhogs and kill them certainly haven’t killed more animals, because it’s their JOB.

Statistically, if OPs toy dog is a chihuahua, there is iadtually a significantly higher chance that it will bite, even in comparison to the pit bull.

You also realize that “pit bull” is a high number of breeds they muddle together, so the statistic looks higher?

Pitbulls are responsible for over 60% of all maiming, dismemberment and deaths cause by dog bites.

This is indisputable fact.

Pitbulls kill multiple other animals including livestock and other dogs on a regular, daily basis. This is fact.

Acting like pitbulls are perfectly safe animals and safer than ankle biter breeds is ridiculous and quite frankly, anti dog.

I've noticed this too. And have a family member who falls under DINK (and almost a Ph.D.), and he and his GF recently got a pit bull.

We do not allow our kids to visit with them.

I agree. I couldn't have adopted any dog from the shelter without having it neutered.
