I rode my bike from Virginia into DC this AM, across the 14th Street Bridge. Apparently the gun inspector was taking the morning off, as I was not stopped and patted down.

Unfortunately, in DC this is the truth. DC residents are about status quo and maintaining an old guard establishment. Progression, thinking outside of the box, and something new is not what DC residents will vote for. Trayvon White will probably beat Bowser in a race. I don't think non natives of DC realize the type of dysfunction that this city embraces. The fact that he is popular and that people adore him is beyond scary. However, this is DC that we are talking about. The day DC residents vote for a white or Jewish mayor you know that the end of times is here. A Latino might have a chance, but a white person or a Jewish mayor in DC will never happen in my life time. The demographic that yields power in DC will rather burn the city down than to allow new blood in the mayoral seat.

Maybe if the Courts weren't a revolving door, MPD can arrest these repeat offenders all day long and none of it will matter of the courts don't do anything to them. The Juvenile system in particular is a sad pathetic joke of a system where the idea of holding offenders accountable is pretty much non-existent.
