Unfortunately, in DC this is the truth.  DC residents are about status quo and maintaining an old guard establishment. Progression, thinking outside of the box, and something new is not what DC residents will vote for.  Trayvon White will probably beat Bowser in a race.  I don't think non natives of DC realize the type of dysfunction that this city embraces.  The fact that he is popular and that people adore him is beyond scary.  However, this is DC that we are talking about.  The day  DC residents vote for a white or  Jewish mayor you know that the end of times is here.  A Latino might have a chance, but a white person or a Jewish mayor in DC  will never happen in my life time.   The demographic that yields power in DC will rather burn the city down than to allow new blood in the mayoral seat. [/quote]
