Sorry to diasappoint you, but I have been many times to both. The fact that we are talking about him is proof that there are differing views on his lenghthy sermon.

I got the feeling that he took the opportunity to deviate enough from the tone of the event, so that we remember him.
That is sad, the wedding was not about him.

Agree with you. He made it about him.

No it was about love.

They didn't want that. But MC could have been shorter.

Every aspect of an event like this is timed. He wasn't improvising. The length was exactly what everyone involved already knew it would be and if anyone had wanted it shorter he'd have shortened it.

It was a religious message in a religious service, not a toast at a party where everyone's eager to get to the drinks. He delivered the message he felt called to give as a priest. The entire service was under an hour. He delivered an actual sermon, not some quick generic blessing. I know this service was just a fashion show to a lot of viewers but I'm glad it included an actual (and engaging) religious message.

The whole ceremony was less than an hour long. People really have zero attention span nowadays if they think the Bishop spoke too much.

It was what, 12 minutes?! That is not long.

And this is how he preaches. I’ve seen him live and watched a Couple of his sermons on YouTube. it is never about bishop Curry, always about Jesus. He gets excited, yes. Bishop Curry is on fire for Jesus and he wants the whole world to know the message of a loving God.

Every single Episcopalian who‘s ever heard him preach knew what was going to happen today, surely the Royal family did too. So what if it wasn’t frozen and expressionless. The Brits could use a little pep in their step. All you need to know is after it was over, Harry looked at Meghan and said, “wow”

It was too long because he kept repeating himself. Over and over, love love love, fire fire fire.
It wasn't poetic.

It was passion without a point. The guy loved the limelight and being able to preach to the masses.

He went off script about half way through then just rambled in an enthusiastic tone.

Too bad he got caught up in the moment as he will be more remembered for his ramblings about fire than anything else.

What is wrong with you people?

I am atheist and thought it was incredibly moving and beautiful.

Same reaction from this atheist. I thought it was lovely.

Agree. It wasn't a 12 minute speech that told a story or led to a point or message - it was just total redundancy for 12 minutes, and needlessly verbose.

I agree it was wonderful. Bravo to the royal couple for orchestrating a wedding that made a statement...and that was about more than themselves.

Yep, he wasn't going to give up the limelight

As in wow, what a trainwreck

Not appropriate for the occasion. He would have made a better impression if it were more dignified.
