ELC (enriched Literacy Curriculum)

The principal said we were not selected. I was wondering why. we don't have enough highly able students in the school?

East Silver Spring is also getting the ELC for next year's 4th grade class, according to a friend with a 3rd grader this year. It sounds like a great program, but I wouldn't assume that any school that doesn't have it didn't have a strong cohort. It's a pilot, so they had to pilot it somewhere!

does Your friend know that her daughter is on the list for ELC? I meant school has sent out letter about kids selection?

Greenwood ES is one of the original ELC pilot centers from last year and we found out last week that it is continuing into next year; though details have not been forth coming as of today.

What I heard is that no ES feeding into W schools got picked for the pilot.

Not sure if that means those ES don't have such a cohort need enrichment. It could be why MCPS never made the list publicly available.
