I never heard of the ELC but my DC is moving up to 4th grade in fall. Sounded like this program started piloting last year, correct? This coming year more school will join the pilot? Do schools volunteer to do so?
In Monday April 26th meeting, Webb said they were going to expand to 26 ESs this incoming fall with ELC program. However, they also said the school list wouldn't come out until late May or early June.
My DC's school already offered/notified two weeks back about ELC and they are going forward with it this fall. but we don't know the list of kids who have been selected yet.
Good for you! Do you mind share your ES name?
East Silver Spring is also getting the ELC for next year's 4th grade class, according to a friend with a 3rd grader this year. It sounds like a great program, but I wouldn't assume that any school that doesn't have it didn't have a strong cohort. It's a pilot, so they had to pilot it somewhere!
does Your friend know that her daughter is on the list for ELC? I meant school has sent out letter about kids selection?
I don't know. It seemed rude to ask. To the best of my knowledge, no one has been notified yet.
