I don’t love god

I believe in some kind of higher power, but I'm not sure if that is God or a god or gods or what.

Can you explain more, please?
I seem to be along the lines of there's "something". Not necessarily God as we are told, like above PP. Actually NOT God as we are told.

Who is the "we" you are referring to who know better? The 3.1 percent of the population who are atheists but clearly are sufficiently superior to speak for everyone else?

We the people who believe in science. We know about the solar system now. Diseases. Weather. Etc. We don’t need to explain these things with something else.

You understand everything in the universe?

Of course not. And I don’t need any gods/mythical creatures to explain any of life’s mysteries.

We now know about viruses and bacteria. So we (most of us) no longer think an angry ghost caused that cold we had last week.

“The most common reasons for disease were thought to be sin, evil spirits, an angry ghost, or the will of the gods to teach someone an important lesson. ”

God is not for "explaining" life's mysteries, PP. God gives moral purpose to the mysteries of life.

Yes, we know more now about viruses and bacteria than ever before in history, but so what? God is still the omnipotentent power that created all of it.

You mean, if you need some kind of external motivation?

What kind of scientist?

In your opinion and according to your religious beliefs. As a scientist, you know there is no proof of this.

Some religious people think that God does explain life's mysteries. If they don't understand something, their attitude is, "Don't worry -- God did it. You'll understand later."

That's the thing about religion, while particular denominations have particular rules, people also feel free to make up some of their own rules and beliefs. It can be comforting and there isn't necessarily anything wrong with it unless you impose those rules and beliefs on others.

I think I just heard it on the Creationism thread.

Trying to stir the pot. Why would someone go on a religious board to say that?

Let atheists and God haters nuke it out on God hating thread. I report them on all other threads.

iow, pp reported this thread and got nowhere, because this is a forum about religion - not about believing in one particular religion

It's relevant to God, correct?

Not loving or believing in God is still about God.

If you looked, you'll see there are posts about other beliefs.

Why not post it? Why do you think some opinions are valid and others aren't?
