Girl Scout cookies are gross

There are so many threads about this.

Just don't eat them or buy them. Or buy them and donate them to the troops.

Uh, I had a Reese's sundae at Friendly's last summer and it was every bit as delicious as I remembered!

I agree. I used to love Samoas, Tagalongs, and Thin Mints. Now I find them boring and not at all worth the indulgence. Maybe my tastebuds have matured.

Now I want ice cream.

Little known fact, there are two bakeries that make Girl Scout cookies in the U.S. I personally think the one that serves the DC area (Little Brownie Bakers) makes a grossly inferior product. Maybe you're used to the other bakery (ABC Bakers)?

Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos = LBB
Carmel Delites, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwiches = ABC

13:23 - I'm a troop leaders whose council sells Little Brownie Bakers cookies. My sis is a troop leader whose council sells ABC Bakers cookies. So I'm having her ship me the "Thanks a Lot" (shortbread dipped in chocolate) and their version of the s'mores, which is chocolate-dipped.

I'm pretty excited about this.

Canadian lady - do you ever get to America? If so, have a friend buy you some cookies and keep them for you. I have a Canadian friend I'd do this for, if she were visiting soon and wanted cookies. You can also order online but I imagine the shipping would be exorbitant.

p.s. keebler makes a pretty good "grasshopper" cookie that is a lot like the thin mint. I think they make a samoa version as well that is decent.

I agree with this. My parents get theirs from ABC and they taste much better. The shortbreads (Trefoils) are a lot more flaky and the taste isn't as overwhelmingly "fake vanilla.:

+1
They're too oily tasting.

I actually like the generic/knock offs (Keebler, safeway brand, etc) better. Way cheaper too.

The little brownie ones around here are greasy tasting, I've noticed.

The sundae topping that I think was called swiss chocolate, it was a mix of chocolate and marshmallow topping, with toasted almonds on top, so good. I don't think I would eat another one if I had a chance for fear of ruining the memory. I wanted to be a friendly's waitress when I grew up-they wore blue and white polyester houndstooth mini dresses that I remember being super cute.

I used to like them but no longer do. I make homemade cookies so when I eventually try a boxed cookie it tastes disgusting. Homemade cookies are so much better.
